Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report early analysis indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for information.

An important representative commented the vandalism left him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
