I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
