Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
The win also means he has achieved 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved serve.
He came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
He defended 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
